What is Specialist Disability Accommodation?
SDA is an NDIS funded category for participants who require housing with specific physical features that support their disability-related needs. SDA funding pays for the bricks and mortar โ the design and structure of the home โ while Supported Independent Living (SIL) covers the people-based assistance inside it. SDA homes are built or modified to one of four design categories: Improved Liveability, Fully Accessible, High Physical Support, and Robust. Each meets different levels of need.
